Electric car company appoints CMO

THINK, a manufacturer of the THINK City electric car, has appointed Michael Lock to be its chief marketing officer.

Lock will handle all of THINK’s brand marketing and strategy and will be responsible for taking the Think City into new markets.

Lock was formally CEO of European motorcycle manufacturer Ducati in the US.

At Ducati he oversaw the firm’s restructure and returned it to profitability.

He has also held brand and marketing roles at a number of automotive companies including Honda Motor Europe and Trinity Motorcycles in the US and the UK.

He joins THINK on 9 August. His appointment follows a slew of senior management appointments across the business, including business development, sales, finance and HR.

Lock says: “I am delighted to be joining the pioneering team at THINK at an embryonic phase in this exciting new industry. THINK has some of the most sophisticated electric vehicle technology on the market, with potential to become a household name as demand for EVs grows in cities all over the world.”

THINK CEO, Richard Canny, says: “Michael has an impressive track record of establishing premium brands in new markets and joins THINK at a time when we are significantly expanding our global reach, moving beyond Europe to address the significant opportunities we are seeing open up in the US and China.”

THINK claims it is one of “the most carbon efficient car companies in the world”.
