EMAP appoints head consumer brands marketer

EMAP Consumer Media has appointed the former Coca-Cola and Diageo senior marketer Simon Stewart to the newly created role of chief marketing officer.

The media company has tasked Stewart with heading up the marketing of its consumer brands across radio, magazines, online, mobile and TV.

His remit includes responsibility of EMAP’s £20m ad spend and agency relationships.
Stewart, who was previously senior vice president of global development at Publicis, will also be responsible for the development of an integrated marketing organisation at EMAP.

He will report directly to chief executive of EMAP Consumer Media Paul Keenan.

EMAP’s current roster agencies include Mother and Fallon and are appointed to work on a brand-by-brand basis.
Prior to Publicis, Stewart also held senior marketing roles at Allied Domecq, Coca-Cola and Diageo.

The appointment comes as EMAP still searches for a chief executive following the departure of Tom Moloney.
