EMAP seeks buyer for the entire company

EMAP, the media group, has asked buyers to consider a bid for the whole company as it increases its efforts to sell its assets. The group, which owns Heat magazine and radio station Magic, put itself up for sale earlier this year.

It says that it has received “good interest” from media and private equity companies and that the offer is “not a consequence of any proposal received to date”.

It is understood that EMAP has asked bidders for its business-to-business magazine division to consider a bid for the whole company, which also includes consumer magazine and radio stations. So far, it has yet to receive an offer for the whole business.

EMAP started a review of its business in July, two months after the departure of chief executive Tom Moloney. He left the company by “mutual agreement” after 26 years.
