EMAP signs Bullet chief to Project Floyd

EMAP Elan’s new monthly title “Project Floyd”, which is understood to be launching within the next two months, has appointed Josephine Monroe, founder of online broadcast magazine Bullet.com, as its publisher.

Bullet.com shut down in September last year. Prior to working at Bullet.com, Monroe was features editor at Time Out magazine.

Project Floyd is understood to be a lifestyle magazine focusing on career issues, with hints on what to wear to work and the latest gadgets to be seen with in the workplace. According to insiders the new title will cover work-related issues.

Monroe refused to divulge any details of the project.

It is understood that the new title will complement EMAP Elan’s celebrity-led title Heat, which suffered a slow start, but according to the latest Audit Bureau of Circulations figures, it has increased its circulation by 137.6 per cent year on year, to 172,311.

In May this year EMAP appointed Gyles Abbott, ad director of The Face and Arena, as the ad director for the new magazine.
