Sky

Sky has particular focuses on improving diversity, ensuring vacancies reach diverse audiences, and raising awareness and training around unconscious bias that can happen during the recruitment process. It runs a number of networks supporting women, working parents and LGBT colleagues. These include Parents@Sky, a network for working parents, developed and run by working parents. Over 1,400 employees are members, which gives them access to the online forum, website, webinars and workshops.

LGBT+@Sky provides professional and social networking opportunities for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees. Every year, Sky participates in Pride events across the country, engaging both employees and customers.

The Women@Sky network provides access to internal and external role models to inspire. It creates a platform for men and women to connect and share experiences, as well as offering activities for personal development.

Flexibility is a key appeal of working at Sky, with leave and working patterns adapting to employee circumstances and events. Staff also have a personal budget for equipment to allow working from home.

These initiatives have led to Sky winning a number of employer awards recently. It achieved by far the highest response to Marketing Week’s employee survey, indicating a very high level of engagement. Sky also recognises the need to be where customers are, and holds regular insight and best practice events for the marketing team.
