Cormican has been with the firm for seven years heading its business development team.

He replaces former head of marketing, Chris Sherlock, who has been appointed to head up the Equifax Personal Solutions business, which provides a range of direct-to-consumer credit information services.

He will have responsibility for all areas of the UK business, apart from Equifax Personal Solutions, and will control the marketing, product, pricing and external affairs teams and the company’s delivery into the marketplace.

Cormican says: “We have established a very strong reputation for providing the information and intelligence to enable businesses to make the right decisions about customers – from acquisition to risk and account management. Now, as the UK economy emerges from the recession we can give customers and prospects the tools to maximise the opportunities in their own markets – and we need to get that message out through a range of marketing activities.”

Time to pull the trigger

Time may be relative, but when it comes to marketing propositions it is one-dimensional – your offer either hits at the right time or it does not. Consumers tend to be in-market at specific moments, depending on the buying cycle for a product or service – weekly grocery shop, annual insurance renewal and so on.
