Eurostar appoints start-up to strategy brief

Eurostar has appointed start-up agency Hurrell and Dawson to develop a new environmental strategy for the train operator.

It is the agency’s first win, three months after Neil Dawson, the former European chairman of M&C Saatchi, and Nick Hurrell, former TBWA chairman, set up shop.

Eurostar wants to boost its environmental credentials with consumers and push the message that it is a greener alternative to flying to Paris or Brussels from London.

It is understood that further strategic briefs could be handed to the agency in the future.

The win for Hurrell and Dawson will come as a warning shot to TBWA/London, the incumbent creative agency for Eurostar. The train operator is currently holding a pitch for its main £10m advertising account. The pitch is being overseen by Eurostar’s head of UK marketing Greg Nugent.
