Evening Standard plans homes style magazine

The Evening Standard is to launch a new home, style and interiors magazine called ES Interiors.

The newspaper colour supplement will be published for the first time with the Friday edition of the Evening Standard on September 11.

It will be review size with a minimum of 32 pages and appear alongside the Evening Standard supplement called ES.

Demand from readers and advertisers has led to the launch of the magazine says Evening Standard advertisement director Sue Minnikin.

She adds: “We monitor the general market and the real growth area for magazines is interiors.

“The first issue is being launched in September, a second will follow in December and then we will decide whether to make it monthly or not.”

ES Interiors, which will claim to have the biggest circulation of any publication of its kind, will look at celebrities’ most important rooms, design icons, chefs’ tips and the best in kitchen equipment.

Other items to be covered include the best technology for homes, features on individual’s first homes, objects of desire and a shopping directory of items featured in the title.

The supplement will be edited by ES editor Adam Edwards.
