Everything Everywhere to cut iPad price

Orange and T-Mobile are to reveal a deal for consumers that will cut the cost of the Apple iPad in return for customers signing up to a long term contract.

The telecoms brands, owned by Everything Everywhere, are expected to sell iPads direct from their websites and retail stores.

The company says that it will make a formal announcement later today (22 November).

The iPad is expected to be a big Christmas seller and can cost up to £700. The discount offer from Orange and T-Mobile could see prices as low as £200 for those who sign up to an 18 month or two year contract.

Rival electronics companies, such as Samsung, are also hoping their tablet devices, will be taken up by consumers as festive gifts.

Everything Everywhere is opening six dual branded stores ahead of Christmas.
