Ex-Barclays boss takes UK helm at Standard Life

Standard Life has appointed former Experian and Barclays marketer Bruce Kelsall as marketing director for its UK business.

He will replace Andrew Gillespie, who has left for personal reasons, according to a spokeswoman. It is not known whether he has a job to go to.

Kelsall has been working as a consultant at Standard Life since September. He has previously held senior marketing roles at Experian and Barclays, where he held the position of commercial director for retail banking.

Gillespie, a former group marketing director at Barclays, joined Standard Life in October 2008. Last year, the financial services company restructured its UK marketing team, separating the marketing and product development roles. It resulted in several roles being made redundant.
