Ex-Incepta chief Green seals agency deal

Graham Green, the former Incepta deputy chief executive who quit after a failed hostile bid for Lopex Communications last year, is making a comeback with the acquisition of below-the-line agency Blue Skies.

Green, who also masterminded Incepta’s successful 40m merger with Citigate Communications in 1996, has bought a 75 per cent stake in Blue Skies and will be chairman.

The remaining 25 per cent is split between board director Tracey Kleber, who joins from Grey Direct, and creative director Mickie Titterton, who was at Clarke Hooper.

Green has purchased the Blue Skies brand but most assets, including employees and clients – Energis and Hamilton Direct Bank – have been passed to The Haygarth Group.

Green says he will look for acquisitions in the long term. He says: “We are focusing on the financial and IT sectors and we are working with a number of clients but we are tied by confidentiality clauses.”

Another specialist financial services marketing company launches this week, CST Intelligence. Keith Carby, the former managing director of life assurance company J Rothschild Assurance is joining with Anthony Thomson, the co-founder of City Financial Marketing, to head the new agency.
