Ex-One 2 One marketer joins NTL for mobile phone push

NTL has appointed One 2 One’s head of product marketing Jenny Lynn-Jones as director of telephony.

She reports to managing director of marketing and development Jerry Roest. She will be responsible for delivering the company’s revenue targets through the existing product portfolio and the development of new products. In addition, she will be responsible for increasing customers satisfaction levels.

Prior to joining One 2 One in 1998, Lynn-Jones spent six years with BT Cellnet, where she was marketing manager for the enterprise sector and responsible for developing propositions for high-value consumers and small businesses. At BT Cellnet she was also involved in pricing and product launches.

NTL managing director Stephen Carter says: “Jenny has an extensive knowledge of the telecoms industry, and a proven track record in product marketing. The experience she brings to NTL will further strengthen the management team.”

Lynn-Jones’ knowledge of the mobile phone industry is expected to help NTL’s bid to break into the market and offer its customers a full communications package. NTL has teamed up with Orange.

The company has announced that it is to embark on a joint marketing venture with Telewest to promote consumer broadband services in the UK.

NTL’s creative agency, J Walter Thompson, has created an advertising campaign to highlight services, due to break later this month.

It is part of a strategy designed to make NTL and Telewest work more closely together. NTL recently appointed Flextech Sales – a division of Flextech, the content arm of Telewest – to be its exclusive advertising representative (MW May 10). Advertisers will now be able to buy a single campaign across the bulk of the UK cable industry.
