The Newspaper Licensing Agency (NLA) has appointed the former Titan Outdoor chief executive David Pugh (left) as its new managing director. Pugh will start later this month and replaces Martin Stevenson, who left to join Racing UK.
Pugh, who is also a former marketing director at The Telegraph group, will be responsible expanding its digital arm as well as developing its core licensing offering.
The NLA says that Pugh’s advertising experience will prove crucial in driving the business forward, particularly across digital.
Pugh has held several roles in the outdoor advertising industry. He was chief executive of outdoor company Mills & Allen until it was taken over by JC Decaux. He later joined Maiden Outdoor as chief executive and took the same role at Titan after it acquired its rival. He is also a former chairman of the Outdoor Advertising Association.
The NLA represents over 1300 UK newspapers and licenses over 7000 organisations.
