Experian promotes Turner to head interactive division

Credit report company Experian has promoted former Tiscali and Freeserve marketer Peter Turner to managing director of its interactive division for UK and Ireland.

He replaces Jim Hodgkins, who steps up to become managing director of Experian’s marketing services division for the UK & Ireland. Turner will report to Hodgkins.

Turner was recruited as director and general manager of Experian’s CreditExpert service in July last year.

He is a former business marketing director at Tiscali and a former ecommerce director and director of marketing communications and services for Freeserve brand Wanadoo. He oversaw the company’s rebranding to Wanadoo and subsequent change to Orange home.

In his new role at Experian he will be responsible for the growth of Experian’s Interactive business, which includes CreditExpert.co.uk and LowerMyBills.co.uk.

CreditExpert.co.uk allows consumers unlimited access to their credit report online.

Hodgkins says: “Peter’s wealth of commercial experience combined with his strong customer focus will play a pivotal role in driving the Interactive division’s performance.”

Experian appointed i-level to handle digital media planning and buying for its brands earlier this year.

The company bought Hitwise two years ago in a deal worth 120m.
