The seven video ads, created by Wieden + Kennedy, take the form of online video and are being seeded in key markets, including the UK.
One spot features people using the platform to come together to create couches on skis, while another ad follows an aspiring marathon runner. A separate video highlights a girl going through a bad breakup, who used Facebook to find a friend to make her feel better, while another shows someone using Facebook to find a dance teacher.
It is the first campaign from Facebook since its first ever foray into brand advertising back in 2012, when it created a video called “Things That Connect Us” that was ridiculed by some users for comparing Facebook to everyday objects such as chairs, bridges, aeroplanes and basketball.
A Facebook spokeswoman says: “People do amazing things on Facebook, and this is just a small effort to highlight some of those things.”
