Fast Track wins with swimming sponsorship task

FINA, the world governing body for aquatics, has appointed sports marketing agency Fast Track to identify national sponsors ahead of next year’s annual World Swimming Championships.

The five-day event will be staged in Manchester from April 9 next year, ahead of the Beijing Olympics. It is to be the largest sporting event to be staged in the region since it hosted since the 2002 Commonwealth Games.

Fast Track will oversee a national partnership programme around the event alongside the development of wider initiatives, while building on existing official partnerships with brands including Yakult, AstralPool and Omega.

The agency has also been tasked with overseeing licensing arrangements and client services for the organising committee of the event.

The event is being supported by a £4m funding partnership which includes Manchester City Council, the Northwest Development Agency (NWDA), UK Sport and British Swimming.
