Faulds poaches Leith chief to run BM account

Faulds has lured a board director from Edinburgh rival The Leith Agency to head one of its divisions, called Total Faulds. He will also lead one of its biggest accounts, British Midland.

John MacDougal, director of account management at The Leith Agency, will replace Paul Yole, the director of the Fauld’s integrated communications division Total Faulds, and an ex-Kwik-Fit marketing director who is emigrating to Australia.

MacDougal, 37, has worked at The Leith Agency for ten years, most recently heading the ScottishPower and Silentnight Beds accounts.

But The Leith Agency lost the ScottishPower national account to Bartle Bogle Hegarty last year, which left it handling only the Scottish regional account.

Phil Adams remains the sole director of account management at The Leith Agency. He is in charge of Irn Bru, Tennent’s lager, Atlantic Telecom, Honda, and Roche.

MacDougal says: “I’ve been at Leith for ten years, but the chance to run an airline account was too big an opportunity to miss.”

Faulds managing director Dennis Chester says: “MacDougal is a hard working man who believes in our ambition to become a UK agency.”

John Morgan, chairman of the Morgan Partnership, which recently lost its &£10m Kwik-Fit account to Faulds, has assumed the role of chief executive. Day-to-day operations will be handled by new md John Cooney.
