Faulds wins £3m EMAP radio rebranding

EMAP Performance Network has appointed Faulds Advertising to handle the advertising for its Big City Network. The account is believed to be worth £3m.

Faulds won the business in a final creative pitch against Leith and Cheetham Bell.

A rebranding campaign for Manchester’s Piccadilly Key 103 FM will be launched by Faulds, with a view to re-branding seven more FM stations in the north next year. The multimedia campaign is likely to focus on 15- to 34-year-olds and will also use ambient media.

Mother, which will continue to be on the brand’s roster, will handle the company’s Magic and Kiss brands. Group media will continue to be handled by Rocket.

The EMAP Big City Network also includes 96.3 Aire FM in Leeds, Newcastle’s Metro FM and stations covering Sheffield, Stockton, Hull, Liverpool and Preston.

EMAP Performance seeks to build a strong brand identity for the radio network to encourage advertisers’ spend across stations and to develop consumer promotions and awareness.

It is also developing Internet sites covering the same metropolitan areas as the Big City Network, such as ClickManchester and YourLeeds, as part of its cross-media strategy (MW August 24).
