The FCO has 50 global users sending email to subscribers in 170 countries around the world. Information about changes in foreign policy or travel advice as a result of events and changing circumstances is a key part of its citizen-facing role.
Murdo Ross, senior consultant at Lateral Group says: “The FCO is already communicating with its subscribers via email and they clearly understand the global importance of this channel. Our remit will be to provide the FCO with a future-proof solution which will support all of their integrated email communication objectives.”
SmartCast will be integrated with the FCO’s content management platform using RSS to trigger email to target audiences. Share-this functionality for social networks and member-get-member is also being incorporated.
