Financial Services Compensation Scheme names agency

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) has appointed McCann Erickson Manchester to develop a campaign to raise awareness of the organisation with consumers.

The FSCS is the “compensation fund of last resort” for customers of authorised financial services firms. If a firm becomes insolvent or ceases trading it may be able to pay compensation to its customers.

It is independent of the Government and financial industry and became operative in December 2001.

McCann Erickson’s appointment follows a three way pitch handled by the Central Office of Information (COI).

McCann Erickson Manchester will work to develop creative as part of a multi-channel strategy as identified by communications planning agency Mindshare.

Mindshare was appointed last September after a three way pitch with Arena BLM and Naked overseen by COI
