Firebox creates first brand marketing team

Firebox, the online gadget retailer, has created its first brand marketing team following an extensive review of its operations.

The company has appointed Graham Morrell, previously head of direct acquisition for Orange UK, to head the new department. He will work alongside Naomi Brown who joins from IT software agency Civica in the newly created role of affiliate marketing executive.

The team has been charged with building brand awareness, managing national marketing campaigns and developing strategic relationships with companies operating in the packaged goods sector.

Morrell, who will report directly to Firebox managing director Christian Robinson, will develop Firebox’s multi-channel marketing strategy. This is likely to be focused around online and direct campaigns.

Firebox says the review was sparked by significant expansion across the business in recent years as it has continued to broaden its offering beyond gadgets for men to a reach a wider consumer audience.
