Focus DIY searches for top marketer

Focus DIY the home improvement retailer is searching for top marketer to replace David Moore who is currently in the position as interim head of marketing.

The new head of marketing will be responsible for all aspects of customer communication with the aim of driving sales and footfall to stores.

The role will report into commercial director Penny Teale at the retailer’s head offices in Cheshire.

Moore will continue in the role until October, it is not known if he has a job to go to.

The retailer is the UK’s third largest DIY chain behind B&Q and Homebase and currently operates 181 stores in the UK.

Earlier this year Focus was saved from collapse
when its creditors reached a company voluntary agreement to save the struggling chain.

The chain owed landlords £12m in property rent for 38 vacant stores. The deal saw Focus paying creditors a portion of what it owed – the equivalent of six months rent in two lump sums.
