Footlocker signs sponsorship deal with Britain’s Next Urban Superstar

Footlocker, the sportswear retailer, has signed up to sponsor a TV show that aims to find Britain’s next big “urban superstar”. The show will launch on July 14.

Britain’s Next Urban Superstar, which will air four times a week on Flava TV Sky Channel 357, will have a panel of four judges but the winner will be decided by a public vote.

The show is part of the Urban Music Awards, run by Invincible Media Group, and will replace its Best National Unsigned Act search. The group claims it will be the first television show to be directly associated with a major awards ceremony.

Invincible Media Group chief executive, Jordan Kensington, says: “We aim to find talent from the UK, who possess a special quality, marketability and the dedication required to become the next Urban Superstar.”

The Urban Music Awards was previously sponsored by shoe brand Kickers.
