Forte’s search for a marketing director, a post which it created earlier this year, has ended with the appointment of Airtours Holidays marketing director Richard Carrick.
Carrick’s appointment follows weeks of speculation that he was leaving Airtours which has just restructured its marketing department leaving Carrick no longer responsible for sales (MW last week).
Carrick has been at Airtours for almost three years and before that he was marketing director at Saga Holidays. His departure date from Airtours is still being negotiated and his replacement has not yet been announced.
Carrick will be taking on a global marketing role which will include overseeing the company’s international hotel chain Le Meridien. The chain has just appointed Europcar Inter-rent’s international marketing director Susan Durst as sales and marketing director.
