Founder Thwaites leaves Latitude

Latitude founder and chairman Dylan Thwaites has left the company as part of the second major restructuring of its senior team in eight months.

The Warrington-based search agency revealed Thwaites’ departure to new media age, coming just over a year after Latitude was valued at over £50m following investment by VC firm Vitruvian.

The company has also made CTO Rob Shaw and agency director Judy Dewsbury redundant, while CFO Julie Moran, who left in the autumn, has been replaced by Steve Herring.

An internal restructuring means COO Richard Gregory now takes over the client services and production teams, while CEO Alex Hoye’s responsibilities will include overseeing the technology division.

In August it was revealed Latitude – which ranked second in last year’s new media age Marketing Services Guide – had made 10% of its staff redundant as a result of reduced client spend, taking its staff numbers to approximately 100.

“In a world where there are no rebates to hide behind, we have to be at the leading edge for both client services and technology,” said Hoye.
