Mike Soutar (pictured), the publisher of the new freesheet ShortList, has launched himself on YouTube to instruct street vendors on how best to distribute the magazine targeted at men.

The instructional video is aimed at coaching vendors on how not to thrust the free magazine at commuters and instead “greet them good morning” and “maintain eye contact”.

Launched last week, Shortlist was distributed to more than 500,000 readers in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Leeds.

In the three-minute video Soutar says: “ShortList is a good looking magazine, distributed by a good looking team.”
