Freeview reviews 5m ad account after nine months

Freeview, the free-to-air digital TV service, is reviewing its 5m advertising account less than a year after it appointed Delaney Lund Knox Warren & Partners. It is understood that three undisclosed agencies are involved in the pitch and a decision is expected imminently.

Freeview, the free-to-air digital TV service, is reviewing its 5m advertising account less than a year after it appointed Delaney Lund Knox Warren & Partners. It is understood that three undisclosed agencies are involved in the pitch and a decision is expected imminently.

It is understood that Rob Farmer, Freeview director of marketing communications, is overseeing the review and DLKW is not involved. The agency was appointed last September by Sophie Alexander, head of consumer marketing, after a pitch against St Luke’s CHI & Partners and Farm. She left the company to join the BBC earlier this year.

The broadcaster is seeking an agency to promote its service in the run-up to digital switchover in 2012 and to drive sales of its recordable digital TV service, Freeview Playback.

Farmer joined Freeview in April and is a former partner at CHI.
