Fujitsu Siemens Computers has appointed Scholz & Friends to run its pan-European advertising account. The account is worth an estimated £1m.

The company, which previously handled its advertising in-house, appointed the agency without a pitch. Scholz & Friends has worked with the company on a project basis in the past.

The agency has been tasked with producing the company’s first integrated campaign, highlighting the benefits of its entire product portfolio to consumers.

The campaign breaks on Friday and will run across print and on consumer websites such as MSN and AOL. It will be supported by offline activity including point-of-sale work.

A Fujitsu-Siemens spokesman says: “Our new integrated campaign not only conveys a consistent brand image for Fujitsu Siemens Computers but it also underlines the fact that we listen to our customers and we understand the realities of their needs.”

Scholz & Friends will run the campaign from its Berlin offices. Its digital arm, Scholz & Friends Interactive, will look after online activities including display ads, newsletter advertising and search engine marketing.

It will run throughout Europe, with a special focus on key countries including the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Russia.

Scholz & Friends will work alongside Fujitsu Siemens’ media agencies for the campaign – Mediaplus and Initiative.
