Future Publishing appoints ad director

Future Publishing has announced Matt Smith as its new advertising director for gadgets and technology brand T3.

Smith joins from Northcliffe Newspapers where he was senior business development manager, responsible for national revenues across 129 regional papers and 152 websites.

Reporting to Future’s London sales director Malcolm Stoodley, he will now work with the team to drive its cross platform sales offering.

T3’s offering includes a magazine, a website and calendar of live events. The magazine, which is licensed out across 21 International editions, was recently redesigned.

The new look T3 splits the best new technology gear into separate sections – covering the latest gadgets and kit for home, work, play and outdoors. There is also a new monthly column from Newsweek’s Dan Lyons.

Publishing director of Future’s Technology and Entertainment Lifestyle portfolio, Nial Ferguson says Smith’s “impressive” track record will help him “lead the development of its sales offering through challenging market conditions.”
