Gala Bingo moves into interactive TV

Gala Coral Group-owned gaming company Gala Bingo has extended its service with the launch of a live, interactive bingo TV channel.

The 24-hour service, which is being launched in partnership with Endemol UK, will be available via the Sky Digital platform. It comprises eight hours of daily live presenter-led bingo sessions, starring selected bingo callers from its UK clubs network alongside TV personalities.

The service will be automatically extended to existing Gala Bingo online players who will be able to access the channel using their internet account membership details.

The interactive channel also enables potential new users to register for the service directly via their remote control.

Dominic Harrison, e-commerce managing director for Gala Coral Group, says: “Gala TV is a further advance for the Gala Bingo brand and gives our customers the option to feel the buzz of playing bingo on TV as well as in the clubs and online.”

The launch of the service comes as Gala Coral emerges as a likely contender to acquire the Tote brand, after the Government last week turned down a bid believed to be in the region of 320m from a racing consortium.
