Gaming firm hires acquisition head

Gaming Media Group, owner of the Poker Channel and CasinoJoy.com, has hired former Ladbrokes marketing executive Mary Griffin to the newly created role of head of customer acquisitions.

Griffin will lead all customer acquisition campaigns across Gaming’s entire portfolio and manage the affiliate, SEO, and media buying teams.

She joins from rival Ladbrokes where she was general manager of online and affiliate marketing across poker, casino, bingo and sportsbook.

Customer acquisition campaigns were previously managed by chief executive Crispin Niebor and marketing head Grant Williams who will now become head gaming operations.

A spokesman for Gaming Media Group says the role has been created to maintain the company’s recent growth and manage its increasing investment in on and offline campaigns.

Group revenues increased 57% in the year to last October with a 47% increase in poker rake. The company has been marketing heavily across Europe in the last six months including pan-European television activity and print campaigns.
