Global to launch Heart brand extension

Global Radio is to launch the first extension of its Heart brand as it looks to further leverage its radio brands.

The radio group is partnering with Universal Music to launch the “Heartbreakers “compilation album on June 22, an extension of weekly networked show of the same name.

The CD’s release will be supported by television, radio, CRM and online activity, including an album microsite.

The compilation marks Global’s second major foray into music. The radio group has released a number of Classic FM-branded CD’s in recent years.

The release falls on the same day as Global will relaunch nine more stations under the Heart network. The third and final phase of the roll-out of the Heart brand follows the 21 stations rebranded earlier this year.

Global is set to announce a new group marketing director shortly after Nicola Thomson announced earlier this month that she is to leave to move to New York.
