Guardian leads for web traffic in November

Guardian.co.uk retained its position as the most popular UK newspaper site with 35.8m unique users recorded through November, according the latest ABCE rankings.

The figure was a 12.93% increase on October’s 31.7m unique users, and a 37.43% increase year-on-year, but came in the month that parent company Guardian News & Media is to cut 100 editorial and commercial jobs across all its titles.

The increase kept Guardian.co.uk ahead of second placed Mail Online, which increased by 2.66% to 31.3m users. Telegraph.co.uk was third, attracting 30.8m visitors, also up 2.66% on October.

News International titles Times Online and The Sun.co.uk both had weaker months. Times Online increased marginally (0.28%) to 20.9m users, while The Sun declined by 3.07% to 20.2m.
