Guinness readies global TV push

Guinness has unveiled a global advertisement to mark the fourth annual “Arthur’s Day” celebration, the self-created anniversary in honour of the drink’s creator Arthur Guinness.

Breaking today (17 August) on Facebook and on television from 19 August, the Saatchi & Saatchi created ad shows the residents of a village preparing for the day by painting the town black in honour of the drink.

The brand will host Arthur’s Day events in 55 countries on 27 September. Pop stars including Tinie Tempah, Ellie Goulding, Example, Professor Green and Fatboy Slim are set to perform.
