Hallmark films father to feature in surprise Father’s Day ad

Hallmark, the greetings card brand, has unveiled an advert starring one of its customers, timed to co-incide with the expected Father’s Day rush.

The brand held an online competition to find a father to feature on an ad for the hallmark.co.uk personalisation service. Leo Burnett created the ad, which featured Jim Crewdson of Grimsby, who was nominated by his daughter, Anna.

In the ad, Anna talks to the camera telling her dad why she loves him. It will be shown for the next two weeks and features pictures of Jim and his children through the years and the personalised Father’s Day card Anna chose for her dad. Secret video cameras then captured his reaction to seeing the ad for the first time.

The ad will break during the Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals this week and will run until 17 June, ahead of Father’s Day, which falls on 20 June this year.
