Hasbro Euro boss takes on new CGU role

Toy manufacturer Hasbro’s European business head Caroline Whitfield is leaving the company to join financial services giant CGU in a new role as director of strategy and innovation.

Whitfield had been with Hasbro since 1996. She says: “My role at CGU has to be open ended. However, there are a number of issues facing the financial services industry, such as technology, new players, consolidation and globalisation, which I will be looking at.”

Her role will also encompass some marketing activity, and it is likely that she will liaise with McCann-Erickson, which last week won the 8m account for CGU.

Fiona Murray, Hasbro head of boy’s and girl’s toys in Europe, has been promoted to head of European marketing. She will report to European president George Volanakis.

The company would not rule out further management changes.
