Havas reports strong results for first half of 2007

Havas has reported strong results for the first half of 2007 due to new business wins including Reckitt Benckiser, Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline and Barclays. It says net new business grew at its highest level for five years during the first quarter of the year.

The group, which owns the Euro RSCG†network, reported a 1.3% increase in group revenue to £510m (€729m) compared to the same period last year, which it attributed to “reinforcing talents and new business teams”. It also reported a 4.4% increase in organic growth for the first half of the year, which is its highest level since the first half of 2001.

Havas chief executive Fernando Rod»s Vil‡ says: “These satisfactory first half 2007 results for Havas are in line with expectations. Continuing our focus on winning new business, rationalisation and cost control is the key to the group’s long term, profitable growth.”
