H&M to launch Jimmy Choo range

Jimmy Choo is to become the latest luxury fashion brand to create a collection for high street retailer H&M.

The brand, popularised by Sarah Jessica Parker’s character in Sex and the City, is to design a new range of about 15 pairs of women’s shoes.

The range is set to retail for about £40 a pair, considerably less than the average cost, about £470, of Jimmy Choo shoes.

The high end brand is the seventh designer range to work with the Swedish retailer since it teamed up with Karl Lagerfeld in 2004.

Most recently, H&M launched a Matthew Williamson designed range in April which sold-out within a few days of launch. It has since been rolled-out to 1,600 stores, alongside the launch of his first menswear range for the high street brand.

The fashion retailer has defied much of the gloom on the high-street of late posting an 8% year on year rise in sales in April last month.
