Holiday Autos in trawl for marketing director

Holiday Autos is on the hunt for a marketing director following the departure of Joanne Pyshorn.

Pyshorn was appointed to the then new role of marketing director at Holiday Autos in March 2001 (MW March 22, 2001) and is believed to have left without a job to go to.

The new marketing director will report to managing director Doug Sawers.

Pyshorn joined the car hire broker, which manages the excess inventory of other operators, from the position of head of marketing at Hertz Europe. She formerly held the post of head of communications at Eurostar.

She oversaw an advertising agency review in November last year, which resulted in the company’s £2.5m account being handed to full-service agency Inferno (MW November 29, 2001). The incumbent, Davies Little Cowley Fiddes, had held the business for less than a year.

Holiday Autos was set up by entrepreneur Clive Jacobs and the company was the focus of recent television documentary, a Secret Life of the Office. In May the company announced the launch of Holiday Hotels as a hotel-finder service operating online and via travel agents.

•Hertz Europe promoted sales director Mark Tristam-Walmsley to the role of sales and marketing director last month, following the departure of marketing director Jean Burke.
