Holiday Inn will manage the official Olympic and Paralympic village that will house the 17,000 athletes involved in the games.

A 30-second TV and cinema ad will break on 12 March, featuring BMX World Champion and 2012 hopeful Shanaze Reade (pictured) and Nick Dempsey, Britain’s most successful windsurfer, practicing in Holiday Inn hotel rooms.

The campaign, created by McCann Manchester, uses the strapine: “17,000 athletes. Six weeks. One home.”

The campaign also includes outdoor, radio and Facebook activity. It also features Paralympic table tennis world number one, Will Bayley, Chris Tomlinson, UK long jump record holder, and Triathlete, Helen Jenkins.

Mike Greenup, InterContinental Hotel Group’s vice president of marketing for Europe, says: “The campaign brings to life the unique role Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express will play in the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It demonstrates perfectly how our service culture helps you to relax and be yourself, whether you’re an elite athlete, leisure or business traveller.”
