Homebase launches gardening club

Home improvement retailer Homebase is tapping into the burgeoning interest in gardening with the nationwide launch of its Garden Living Club. It follows a low-key trial of the scheme earlier this year.

The club will give members discount on products and concessions to gardening events such as at Hampton Court. Members will also receive a seasonal magazine with tips and ideas.

The club was initially promoted through mail-outs to customers signed up to Homebase’s Spend and Save loyalty scheme. It is free to join and is now available to all customers who sign-up to Spend and Save in-store or at the retailer’s website.

Fidal Canning, Spend and Save’s customer manager, says the trial gave the retailer a chance to perfect the look and feel of the offer. “Those joining so far range from 30 and 70 years upwards, from more established gardeners to those interested in outdoor living and entertainment.”

Homebase is one of Britain’s largest home improvement retailers with more than 310 out-of-town stores in the UK and Republic of Ireland
