Horsing around proves a surefire bet for WCRS pair

In the Diary’s experience, horsemen usually come in groups of four and have names like “pestilence”. They are inauspicious visitors and should be avoided.

However, at Totesport and WCRS things are a bit more laid back. Their horsemen are called Barry and Tony, wear natty suits and come as a pair. They also like a day at the races and a bit of a flutter – which is a far more civilised than spreading famine.

Barry and Tony, who star in the WCRS-created idents for Totesport during Channel 4’s racing coverage, were at Goodwood recently where they had a successful punt on one of Frankie Dettori’s mounts, and after collecting their winnings the pair were pleased to be able to thank the jockey in person.

The Diary is told that lurking inside one of the costumes is WCRS account director Bob Peck.
