Hewlett-Packard is reviewing its £150m global media planning and buying account, currently handled by ZenithOptimedia. The review will include HP’s corporate, personal systems group, and its image and printing group.

ZenithOptimedia, which will be repitching for the business, has held the account since 2004 and works with the company in 90 countries.

Last month, HP also started a review of its global digital and PR accounts. The incumbents on its PR business are Hill & Knowlton, Porter Novelli, Burson-Marsteller and A&R Edelman.

Earlier this year, HP appointed BBDO to its £100m global advertising account. It won the business from incumbent Publicis. However the latter managed to retain HP’s global DM account.

In September, the technology company announced plans to cut nearly 25,000 jobs as part of a move to make $2bn (£1bn) in cost savings over the next three years.

The move followed HP’s acquisition of IT giant electronic data giant Electronic Data Systems. The deal, which saw the company sold for $14bn (£7bn), was completed in late August.
