HSE calls media agency pitch

The Health and Safety Executive is reviewing its media agency arrangements.

It has invited Arena BLM, Mediacom and Experience to pitch under a process being handled on its behalf by the Central Office of Information (COI).

Incumbent ZenithOptimedia has not been invited to re-pitch for the business. It has held the account since 2005.

The review comes after the HSE hired former AstraZeneca executive Sally Sykes as its director of communications to help it tackle the negative image of health and safety regulation.

It last appointed a new agency – direct marketing specialists Watson Phillips Norman – over a year ago following a competitive pitch via the COI to handle a new strategy on workplace safety education.
