Independent launches ‘New Good Life’ guides

The Independent newspaper is launching a 10-booklet series designed to promote self-reliant living, inspired by British sitcom The Good Life.

The newspaper is calling the booklets “The New Good Life”. The series is designed to help households save money on their weekly budgets and topics include Kitchen Basics, Garden Basics, Painting and Decorating Basics and Making and Mending Basics. The booklets will be included each day for 10 days from Saturday (April 25).

The Independent is currently the focus of speculation as to whether parent company Independent News & Media is looking to sell off the title.

Further detail about the newspaper’s future could be revealed when the company publishes full-year results. These are now expected on April 30.
