Innocent marketer heads to Mars

Mars Chocolate UK has named Thomas Delabriere, the former Innocent marketer, as marketing director for its Bitesize brands.

He will take responsibility for marketing brands such as Minstrels, Revels and Mars Planets in the UK and internationally.

Delabriere will report to Michael Magee, UK vice president at Mars Chocolate UK.

He joins from Innocent Drinks, where he oversaw the marketing strategies across the company’s brands.

Prior to his time at the smoothie maker Delabriere was marketing director at PepsiCo UK.

He replaces Alex Brittain, who left Mars to join Tesco as category manager in February.

Last year the company announced plans to emulate its US strategy with a character-based push for its Bitesize brands in the UK.

“Training is not about courses in fancy country hotels,” says Will Orr, marketing director at British Gas. It’s about creating consistent excellence throughout the business. To that end, the utility company is in the process of rolling out a dedicated British Gas Marketing Academy.
