M&C Saatchi’s European chairman Moray MacLennan has been appointed the new president of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA). He will take over from David Pattison, the outgoing worldwide chief executive of PHD, in April.

His appointment follows a three-month nomination process run by the Presidential Nominating Committee, which was led by immediate past president Stephen Woodford. It will be confirmed at a meeting on April 27 if MacLennan is not opposed.

MacLennan, who was elected to the IPA Council in 2005, says: “The prospect of getting more involved, especially at a time when the pace of change in our industry is accelerating, is one I look forward to tremendously.”
