IPC names Boyle as Innovator ad head

IPC has appointed Declan Boyle as ad director of its insert and direct sales division, Innovator. He joins from direct mail agency Lloyd James Group.

Boyle has been appointed to “reposition” the division’s creative offering to clients and will report to IPC Advertising central sales group advertisement director, Ali Deas.

He replaces Dan Handscomb, who left the company in September to join Mediaforce-owned National Letterbox Marketing.

Boyle’s appointment comes amid a number of changes at IPC. Glenda Marchant has left her role as publisher of InStyle magazine, while Claire Portis is to leave her position as advertising director for IPC’s women’s general interest magazines, including Essentials and Woman & Home, at the end of this month. IPC says the posts have yet to be re-filled.

The changes come after Fiona Dent was promoted from her role as managing director of IPC’s TV weeklies division, IPC TX, to managing director of its women’s weekly unit, IPC Connect. The appointment follow the arrival of Evelyn Webster, IPC’s new chief executive, who joined earlier this month.
