IPC Southbank picks MPG boss as ad chief

IPC SouthBank has appointed Alex Russell as its new group advertising director, responsible for its upmarket women’s magazines including Marie Claire, Homes & Gardens, In Style and Woman & Home.

Russell is head of press at media agency MPG and has responsibility for its key fashion and fragrance accounts. She replaces Mark Reen who is leaving the company to study for an MBA.

IPC SouthBank managing director Jackie Newcombe says: “This is a key appointment for us and Alex has a wealth of experience in the luxury goods market and is evangelical about brands. She is an expert in press but also brings a much broader perspective to media in general, which is vitally important in today’s competitive market.”
