IPC SouthBank publisher moves to Women’s group

IPC SouthBank division has promoted publisher Sandy Gale to publishing director of the Women’s General Interest Group.

Gale will take responsibility for all the group titles following fellow publisher Jackie Newcombe’s move to the Women’s Weeklies Group last week. The group includes Woman and Home, Essentials, Family Circle, Living, Practical Parenting, and Our Baby.

“It made a lot of sense to make Sandy publishing director, because it means that each of the three core groups in SouthBank – Fashion, Home Interest and now General Interest – has a single director,” says SouthBank managing director Colin Reeves-Smith.

The advertising sales team to support Gale will be announced later this week.

Gale joined IPC in 1988 when the company acquired Stanbrook Publications. She oversaw the launch of Our Baby in autumn last year.
